TNB Electron has activated its new EV chargers at Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC) in Ipoh, Perak. Located in two different areas of the golf club, they are currently operating on a trial basis.

One of them is located at the RPGC Tennis Court and features a 120kW DC charger, while another 240kW DC charger is also available at the RPGC Garden Hotel. Each of these chargers features 2 charging bays alongside a JuiceUp card payment terminal.

Despite not being officially launched to the public, EV owners are already able to utilise them at the moment. Not only that, they are also available for free until further notice.

Credit and debit cards are still required during the trial phase

Although the new TNB Electron RPGC EV chargers are currently available for free, users must still tap their credit or debit card on the JuiceUp card payment terminal. There is also a pre-authorisation amount of RM50 involved during the trial period, but it will be refunded to customers within 3 to 5 days.

We have been informed that TNB Electron has yet to set the charging fee for these chargers. That being said, we believe it shouldn’t cost more than RM1.50 per kWh, which is the CPO’s current ceiling fee for its DC chargers.
