TNG Digital has rolled out an upgraded QR scanning feature for TNG eWallet which now does more than just QR payments.
Users can now scan non-payment QR codes such as menus, forms, links and event tickets directly within the app, eliminating the need to download or use a separate QR scanning app.
TNG Digital CEO, Alan Ni said, “QR codes are now part of daily life in Malaysia, from dining and shopping to travel and entertainment. By enabling our users to scan any QR code, anytime and anywhere, TNG eWallet is not just making payments easier — we are making everyday life connected and convenient. It may seem like a small step, but its impact is significant. One app that helps Malaysians do more in their day-to-day lives.”
The new feature builds on TNG eWallet’s existing role as an all-in-one digital platform, which already includes services such as e-commerce, bill payments, investments, insurance, and international remittance.
To celebrate the launch, TNG eWallet users stand a chance to win eWallet credit or reload PINs by scanning non-payment QR codes or sharing their experience on social media with the hashtag #SatuAppSemuaQR.
For quicker access, you can also add TNG eWallet’s QR scanner on your smartphone’s lock screen or as a widget on the home screen.
However, TNG eWallet still doesn’t support personal DuitNow QR codes from users on other banking platforms. It only works with personal DuitNow QR codes generated by TNG eWallet or DuitNow QR merchant accounts.
