Rhinoshield’s AirX case not only protects your iPhone’s outside but also its inside

We drop our phones all the time. It’s an accident that’s almost impossible to fully prevent. Hence, phone cases have been invented to protect our phones from breaking when dropped.

But sometimes, internal damage can still happen even when our phones look unscathed on the outside. Rhinoshield’s latest AirX case, made for iPhones, is designed to tackle this particular problem and more.

Only phone case on the market with 81% shock absorption

Said to be the only phone case on the market to achieve an 81% shock absorption, the Rhinoshield AirX is designed with the brand’s Dual-Layer Internal Damage Protection System.

The first layer features the Air Isolation Chamber that sports a 360° all-around air-cushion system. Depicted as an airbag for your phone, the air-cushion system works by absorbing and dispersing shock on impact when the phone is dropped. The force is then redirected away from critical stress points, while the air chamber compresses and rebounds to neutralise the force.

At the second line of defence is the Compression Skeleton, which targets high-impact “shock zones”, such as the corners. This layer aids in softening the impact and containing it within the Air Isolation Chamber.

To protect buttons from damage during, let’s say, side drops, Rhinoshield has designed the AirX with embedded buttons that are fully integrated within the chamber. This shields your iPhone’s buttons — a weak point that’s often overlooked.

Most phone cases lose shock resistance with each drop due to material fatigue. To make sure the AirX can stand the test of time, Rhinoshield has put the case through 24,000 tumbles at its lab. According to the brand, the AirX is 30 times more durable than normal cases.

In addition to that, Rhinoshield has also adapted crash-testing methods used in the automotive industry, while leveraging AI to detect microscopic flaws before production for the AirX began.

Among the tests conducted are the G-Force Crash Test, MIL-STD Military Standard Test, Torsion Test, Repeated Tumble Test, Embedded Button Fatigue Test, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI). These tests are conducted to assess potential failure points such as internal and external damage, button durability, twist durability, and so on.
