LG Malaysia Rebrands Rental Programme as ‘LG Subscribe’, Launches New Undersink Water Purifier

LG Electronics Malaysia has rebranded its existing home appliance rental service, LG Rent-Up, to LG Subscribe as part of a regional naming alignment and effort to simplify consumer understanding. The rebrand, which was announced at a recent event in Kuala Lumpur, does not change the core service model but aims to position the offering more clearly as a subscription-based access model for premium LG appliances.

The rebranding comes in response to customer feedback, which indicated confusion over whether the previous term “rent” implied temporary use or eventual ownership. According to LG, the new name is meant to better reflect the nature of the service and ongoing access to high-end products with maintenance support, all under flexible monthly payments.

LG Subscribe includes a line-up of 10 products, such as the LG PuriCare water purifiers, CordZero vacuum cleaners, ArtCool air conditioners, and WashTower laundry systems. Subscriptions include regular professional maintenance for up to seven years, with flexible plans tailored to different household needs.

The service is particularly aimed at urban households and younger consumers looking for access to premium appliances without upfront ownership costs. LG reports growing interest in the model from families who value both flexibility and long-term support.

At the same event, LG also introduced the PuriCare ATOM-U Water Purifier, a compact undersink unit offering a discreet option for space-conscious kitchens and reducing countertop clutter. The system combines minimalist design with LG’s water filtration technology and is intended to fit neatly into smaller spaces while offering a continuous, clean water supply.

LG Malaysia’s Managing Director, Justin Choi, described the rebranding and product launch as part of a broader approach to refining how consumers interact with LG’s products and services.

The event featured brand ambassador and Olympic badminton medallist Lee Zii Jia, who shared his experience using LG products and highlighted the appeal of flexible access models for busy households.
