JomCharge deploys EV chargers at Kinabalu Pine Resort in Kundasang, Sabah

No more range anxiety if you’re driving an EV to the tallest mountain in Malaysia. JomCharge has deployed a cluster of EV chargers at Kinabalu Pine Resort, which is merely 7km away from the entrance of Kinabalu Park in Sabah.

This also makes an ideal EV charging stop for those travelling between Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan.

For this EV charging location in Kundasang, JomCharge has deployed what appears to be an ABB Terra 360 DC charger. However, the charger has been configured to deliver up to 60kW of DC charging and there are two CCS2 nozzles.

As shown from photos uploaded to PlugShare, the DC Charger is co-branded with BMW dealer, Regas Premium Sabah.

For those staying at the resort, there are also two ABB Terra AC charge points at the location that can deliver up to 11kW. These chargers are ideal for EV owners to charge overnight.

Since these are 11kW instead of 22kW AC charge points, EVs with single phase onboard chargers (up to 7kW) would only get a slower rate of about 3kW.

In terms of pricing, the 60kW DC Charger at Kinabalu Pine Resort is priced at RM1.50 per kWh. Meanwhile, the two 11kW AC charge points are priced at RM1.05 per kWh.

These EV chargers can be activated via the JomCharge, Gentari Go and ChargEV app.

Thanks GD for the tip!
