OnePlus 13T: OnePlus’ upcoming compact flagship to feature a familiar design with Snapdragon 8 Elite chip?

Rumours have been swirling that OnePlus is developing a compact flagship positioned between the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R. Expected to be called the OnePlus 13 Mini or OnePlus 13T, concept renders from multiple tech leakers suggest it may take design cues from past and current OnePlus models.

OnePlus 13 Mini/13T to look rather familiar?

Weibo user WhyLab has shared seven concept renders, one of which is speculated to represent the final OnePlus 13 Mini/13T design. Notably, many of these renders resemble previous OnePlus devices, including the OnePlus X, OnePlus CE4, OnePlus CE4 Lite, OnePlus Nord 4, and OnePlus 5.

One render even bears similarities to Oppo’s Reno 13 series. However, it’s important to note that these are not official images from OnePlus but rather speculative designs created by leakers and tipsters.

OnePlus 13 Mini/13T to be the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone?

On the specs front, the OnePlus 13 Mini/13T is rumoured to feature a 6.3-inch display, a 6,000mAh battery, and 80W fast wired charging, making it compact by today’s standards. A prominent tech leaker also suggests it could be the most affordable smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

For comparison, the iQOO 13, priced at RM3,499, is currently one of Malaysia’s most budget-friendly Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered devices. It remains to be seen whether OnePlus can undercut that price.

Of course, achieving a lower price point means trade-offs. Expected compromises include the absence of Hasselblad-tuned cameras—a feature reserved for the OnePlus 13—and swapping the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for a slower optical one.

Still, this device will be seeing itself battling against other compact flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16. If OnePlus manages to create a proper flagship with a price tag that undercuts both of the aforementioned rivals, the company might just have a winner on its hands.
