This post is brought to you by AEON Bank.

AEON Bank is reenvisioning the digital banking landscape with the launch of Neko Missions, Malaysia’s first gamified loyalty programme designed to enhance your engagement and reward everyday transactions.

Gamifying Digital Banking

Neko Missions introduces an interactive way for you to earn rewards, all through AEON Bank’s mobile app. By using a stamp-based system called Neko Paws, you can accumulate rewards through cashless transactions and retail purchases. The programme aligns with AEON Bank’s commitment to making digital banking more engaging and connected to your lifestyle.

“Digital banking has the potential to be more than just a payment and transaction tool. We aim to elevate the mobile banking experience for our customers by optimising it as a medium of engagement between customers and their favourite F&B or retail brands. Neko Missions infuses fun into daily payment and shopping activities, making cashless financial habits more dynamic. We will further develop our loyalty programme and through Neko Missions, we will explore partnerships with various merchant partners within our ecosystem, while leveraging on each other’s USP and customer’s brand affinity,” said the Chief Executive Officer of AEON Bank (M) Berhad, YM Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz.

How Neko Missions Work

You can participate in Neko Missions by using the AEON Bank app and completing specific transactions to earn virtual Neko Paws. These digital stamps can then be redeemed for rewards. The current Neko Missions feature partnerships with ZUS Coffee and DuitNow QR, offering customers multiple ways to earn and redeem points:

  • DuitNow QR Transactions (Until 31 March 2025): Those who spend RM20 and above using DuitNow QR will receive one Neko Paw per transaction, with a maximum of two per day. Collect 10 Neko Paws to redeem 1,000 AEON Points (worth RM5) via the AEON Bank app.
  • ZUS Coffee Partnership (Until 31 May 2025): Paying for ZUS Coffee purchases (minimum RM7) using an AEON Bank Debit Card-i earns customers one Neko Paw per transaction. Once they collect six Neko Paws, they can redeem exclusive rewards through the ZUS Coffee app.

The Neko Missions programme is set to grow with upcoming partnerships including myAEON2Go, AEON Fantasy, Tealive, Sisters Crispy Popiah, and more. This initiative strengthens AEON Bank’s position as a digital bank that connects financial solutions with everyday consumer experiences, conveniently through AEON Bank’s app.

Beyond Neko Missions, AEON Bank customers can also maximise their rewards through the AEON Points Programme and the Share-Share Lah Referral Programme, which offers 1,800 AEON Points (worth RM9) for each successful referral.

On top of that, customers are also encouraged to use their AEON Bank Visa Debit Card-i to pay for both in-store purchases and online shopping, so that they can earn more AEON Points which can be redeemable into cash value via the AEON Bank app.

Encouraging a Cashless and Rewarding Future

AEON Bank’s Neko Missions aligns with Malaysia’s growing shift towards cashless transactions. PayNet’s Senior Director of Commercial, Azrul Fakhzan B. Mainor, highlighted that this strategic collaboration enhances Malaysia’s digital payments landscape by providing users with a seamless, secure, and rewarding digital banking experience.

“By integrating incentives into everyday transactions, we encourage Malaysians to embrace cashless payments while enjoying meaningful rewards. This initiative strengthens customer engagement and contributes to a more connected, inclusive, and digitally empowered economy,” said Azrul.
