If you live in Johor Bahru and have always been curious about electric vehicles, you can now experience it by renting an EV through GoCar’s GoEV service. There are two EV options available through the app-based car-sharing and subscription services in the city at the moment, including the GAC Aion Y Plus 5-seater MPV and the GWM Ora Good Cat hatchback.
To celebrate the arrival of the GoEV Car Sharing service in Johor Bahru, GoCar has partnered with Yinson GreenTech’s DrivEV to offer discounts on the rental fee. This offer is available from today onwards and will last until the end of February 2025.
With the discount, you can rent the Aion Y Plus or Good Cat for 5 hours with a rental fee of just RM100 instead of the usual rate of RM140. All you need to do is input the “JBJOLT” promo code during checkout to enjoy the RM40 discount.
However, take note that the discount does not apply to other fees that are related to the service such as the Collision Damage Waiver, Premium Flex Package, and SST. In other words, the exact rental fee will be slightly above RM100.
If you are interested in having hands-on experience with EV through the GoEV service in Johor Bahru, the Aion Y Plus is available in the Toppen Shopping Centre, Mid Valley Southkey, and R&F Mall. If you prefer the funky Good Cat instead, you can rent it at Komtar JBCC or Sutera Mall.
Meanwhile, do take note that the minimum booking duration for these EVs in JB is 5 hours. If this is your first experience with GoCar, there is an eKYC verification process involved during the creation of your account in which you have to upload a picture of your IC/passport and driving licence as well as a selfie while holding your IC or driving licence.
Not to forget, the verification process takes around 12 to 24 hours to be completed. Hence, make sure to sign up for a GoCar account 1 to 2 days before you plan to rent Aion Y Plus or Ora Good Cat through the service.
