MG Cyberster now officially in Malaysia for RM320k, comes with 1 year of free charging

First previewed in Malaysia back in August, SAIC Motor is finally ready to unleash the new MG Cyberster in our market. The 2-door fully electric convertible made its public debut in October but its official price tag was only revealed at the KL International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 earlier today.

MG Cyberster Malaysia pricing, colourway

In Malaysia, the MG Cyberster can only be obtained in one variant which has a dual motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup. Price-wise, the MG Cyberster is available in Malaysia for RM319,900.

In terms of exterior colourways, the Cyberster can obtain in four options including Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White. As for interior colours, it depends on the exterior colour that you choose as the Dynamic Red and Camden Grey options come with black and red interiors.

On the other hand, Inca Yellow and English White versions have grey interiors. Regardless of the exterior and interior that you preferred, all Cyberster in Malaysia features a black hood.

MG Cyberster Malaysia warranty, launch offer

The Cyberster has a 7-year / 150,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year / 180,000km warranty specifically for its high-voltage battery. The EV’s mileage drive motor and motor control unit are also covered by an 8-year / 160,000km warranty.

In conjunction with the launch, MG Cyberster customers will be provided with 1 year of free charging at JomCharge chargers. They will also receive access to the charging network’s AutoCharge feature which was previously only available to selected EVs such as Chery Omoda E5 and GAC Aion Y Plus.

MG Cyberster Malaysia quick specs

As noted earlier, there is only one variant of MG Cyberster in Malaysia which features a dual motor all-wheel drive setup that provides a total power output of 375kW (503hp) and 725Nm of torque. Powered by a 77 kWh battery, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and can deliver a WLTP-rated range of 446 km.

The Cyberster released in Malaysia is fitted with just a 7kW single-phase AC onboard charger and it takes around 10.5 hours to get the EV to go from 10% to 100% via AC charging. As for DC charging, the EV can support charging speed of up to 150kW which allows its battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes.

Alongside its signature scissor doors, the Cyberster is also equipped with plenty of screens including the 7-inch central touchscreen display, a 10.25-inch driver display, and two 7-inch auxiliary screens on either side. Furthermore, the EV comes standard with an 8-speaker Bose audio system alongside Alcantara-based sports seats and a steering wheel covered in Nappa leather.

Safety-wise, the electric roadster relies on the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite called MG Pilot. The suite has a long list of features including Front Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Traffic Jam Assistance (TJA).

The ADAS suite also offers Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Intelligent High Beam Assist. Cyberster has also been fitted with 4 airbags, a 360-degree camera and Brembo front brakes.
