Tesla Malaysia has announced what appears to be its biggest price cut yet. The Tesla Model Y Performance can now be yours with savings of up to RM30,600.
As usual, this promo is only applicable to its inventory stock and there are limited units available while stocks last.
Up to RM30,600 discount for Tesla Model Y Performance in Malaysia
The Tesla Model Y is the brand’s popular “SUV” model which boasts more storage than the Model 3 sedan. For the range-topping Performance model, the price starts from RM280,000 which is significantly more expensive than the Tesla Model 3 Performance which starts from RM242,000.
With the latest promo, the Model Y Performance can be yours from RM249,400 for the base model with the Pearl White Paint and all-black premium interior. If you want a different exterior colour and the Black and White Premium interior, you can get it at an extra cost.
At the time of writing, there are a total of 10 Tesla Model Y Performance units available on Tesla Malaysia’s inventory list. You have a choice of Pearl White, Deep Blue, Solid Black, Stealth Grey and Ultra Red exterior options available and some of them have opted for the Black and White interior.
Across the board, all Tesla Model Y Performance come with 21″ Uberturbine wheels along with Carbon Fibre spoiler and Performance Pedals included as standard. Do note that the Basic Autopilot is included, while the extra advanced features including Enhanced Auto Pilot and Full Self Driving capability are offered as optional extras.
Tesla Model Y Performance Specs
The Tesla Model Y Performance has twin motors. It is capable of doing 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds and up to a top speed of 250km/h. With greater power, the WLTP-rated range is slightly lower at 514km versus 533km on the Long Range model.
In terms of pricing, the Model Y has a huge gap between each variant where the standard Model Y RWD is priced at RM191,000, while the Long Range Model is going for RM238,000. That’s a huge RM47,000 extra to pay for a longer-range EV. As a comparison, the Model 3 RWD starts from RM189,000, while the Model 3 LR is starting from RM210,000, which is a RM21,000 extra.
