The highly anticipated Apple The Exchange TRX is now open to the public. This is Malaysia’s first Apple Store and it is also the sixth in the Southeast Asian region.
Located at L1.40 The Exchange TRX, the new Apple Store occupies three levels with the top floor protruding out at TRX City Park with its unique 3D “tudung saji” shaped roof.
Ahead of the opening at 10am, it is estimated that over a thousand people had lined up to enter the store. The line to Apple The Exchange TRX starts from the ground floor and visitors are ushered up in batches to the main entrance at Level 1. The first in line is a Chinese national who queued since 11 pm last night.
To celebrate the occasion, Apple gave out its special commemorative tote bag to the early first batch of visitors to the store.
Also present at the store opening is Apple’s Senior Vice President for retail, Deirdre O’Brien. She’s the leader of Apple’s retail store and online teams and has been involved in the launch of Apple’s first retail stores in 2021.

While Apple already has a retail presence in Malaysia through authorised resellers including Machines and Switch, an Apple Store is more than just a sales channel. Besides its unique design and architecture, you can expect a higher level of customer service with personalised one-to-one product walkthrough and get help from product experts at the Genius Bar.
An Apple Store also doubles as a town hall for users to discover and learn more about Apple’s products and ecosystem. On the second level of the store, there’s a space called Today at Apple where visitors can participate in live sessions and workshops which are free to join.
You can check the list of Today at Apple sessions and reserve a slot online. Today at Apple is also open to non-Apple users and they will be able to provide a loaner device for you to use during the session.
There are no specific promos for Apple devices during the store’s opening, but Apple does have a special deal for eligible students if they plan to buy a new Mac or iPad.
Available at Apple The Exchange TRX and the online store, students can get free AirPods with eligible Macs and free Apple Pencil with eligible iPad models. With education pricing, you can get a MacBook Air from RM4,329, Mac Mini from RM2,079, iPad Air from RM2,749 and MacBook Pro from RM7,029.
For greater peace of mind, the Apple Store similar to its online store, offers a 14-day returns and refunds policy. Imagine if you bought an iPad or an iPhone, but you later decided that you needed bigger storage or a different colour. If you’ve purchased the product from the Apple Store, you can exchange it or request a full refund if it is returned within 14 days in pristine condition and all accessories included.
The Apple Store at The Exchange TRX also offers a pickup option for online purchases. This allows you to skip the queue by simply buying online and choose the store pickup option. It is possible to place an order today and collect your order at TRX on the same day, subject to stock availability.
