Alongside the Huawei MatePad 11.5″ S PaperMatte Edition, the Chinese giant has also debuted the more affordable Huawei MatePad SE 11, a refresh of the previous MatePad SE 10.4 from a couple of years ago.

Huawei MatePad SE 11 Malaysia pricing and availability

Unlike their more flagship tablet offering, the Huawei MatePad SE 11 is a fair bit more budget friendly, priced at just RM999 for it. Available for sale nationwide from 22 June onwards at Huawei stores as well as their retail partners, early birds will also be able to get a free Huawei M-Pen Lite worth RM299 while stocks last.

Huawei MatePad SE 11 specs

As its name perhaps suggests, the biggest upgrade the MatePad SE 11 has over its predecessor is a quite literal one. The display is now bigger at 11-inches diagonally, with a 16:10 aspect ratio pushing an FHD+ (1920 x 1200p) resolution for a pixel density of 207PPI. It also has a 1400:1 contrast ratio and 400nits of peak brightness, though no fancy high refresh rates here.

The MatePad SE 11 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, though Huawei did not specify exactly what processor is under the hood here, only that it’s an octa-core chip; for reference the previous Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680. You’ll also find Harmony OS 2.0 out of the box here, while a 7,700mAh battery keeps the lights on with support for 22.5W fast charging.

Other features of note include a quad-speaker setup with Huawei Histen 9.0 technology, an 8MP, f/2.0 main camera on the back, a 5MP, f/2.2 front camera as well as a Kids Mode for if you want to hand it over to a child. Alternatively, you can also use the Huawei M-Pen Lite stylus with the MatePad SE 11, which is a passive stylus meaning no Bluetooth connectivity needed.
