Gaming laptops have come a long way from their origins as big and bulky semiportable machines, with many these days looking for smaller, more compact gaming laptops that can still pack quite a punch. Acer for their part recently showed off the Predator Helios Neo 14 on the global stage and have now brought it to our shores, giving users another option in the growing compact gaming laptop scene.
Predator Helios Neo 14 Malaysia pricing and availability
Despite having been announced with a bunch of different spec options globally, in Malaysia Acer has decided to only bring in the Predator Helios Neo 14 in a single option with an Intel Core Ultra 9, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. Priced at RM7,799, while it’s a little pricey it’s not too far off from its closest competitor the ROG Zephyrus G14, which starts at RM7,999.
Already available for sale on the Acer Malaysia eStore, their official stores on Shopee and Lazada as well as authorised retail partners nationwide, customers who get a Predator Helios Neo 14 by 24 May will also be able to get a free Acer Melbourne Luggage 20″ worth RM999.
Predator Helios Neo 14 specs
The Predator Helios Neo 14’s biggest selling point is of course its smaller and sleeker body. It packs a compact 14.5-inch IPS display pushing a 3072 x 1920p resolution along with a 165Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 400nits, full coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and support for NVIDIA Advanced Optimus. Thanks to the smaller display, the overall laptop has a smaller footprint of just 324.12 x 255.35 x 19.52mm and weighs in at just 1.9kg.
Despite the reduced form factor, the Predator Helios Neo 14 still manages to fit an impressive amount of hardware under the hood. The single configuration Malaysians will be able to purchase has an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H mated to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Your games meanwhile will make use of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 discrete graphics card, with dual 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans and liquid metal grease on the CPU keeps everything cool.
Other features of note include Intel Killer WiFi 6E, a full function USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port and a microSD card reader for connectivity. You’ll also find Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 for background noise elimination and an Acer PurifiedView webcam above the display. The dedicated PredatorSense app on the other hand lets you tune your laptop’s performance and settings as well as monitor overall system health. Lastly, the dedicated Copilot key means you’ll be able to easily access Copilot in Windows for AI-powered assistance.
