ChargeSini has officially launched Putrajaya’s largest residential EV charging hub located at Tamara Residence. The location has a total of 8 EV charge points deployed at four different blocks in Tamara Residence, making it feasible for EV owners to charge overnight. Three out of the four EV charging blocks are also open to the public.
Commenting on the deployment of the new EV chargers, Putrajaya MP Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi bin Md Jidin said, “As we continue to strive for sustainable mobility and a greener future, it brings me great joy to witness the expansion of charging facilities in Putrajaya. Our commitment to green mobility and environmental conservation underscores the importance of promoting renewable energy sources and fostering a sustainable community for generations to come.”
Tamara Residence EV Charger Pricing
For each block, ChargeSini has deployed a pair of Sangitech 22kW AC chargers that are equipped with an automated parking barrier to prevent hoggers. The chargers are priced at RM0.99 per kWh and users can reserve and activate the chargers via the ChargeSini app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users can also reserve the charging bay up to 30 minutes in advance from the app.
According to the app, the EV chargers at Tower B are reserved for residents only, while the EV chargers at Tower A, C and D are open to the public. The EV charging bays are located in the visitor parking area, in front of the main switchboard room (MSB).
High Occupancy Fees to prevent hogging
To discourage hogging of the charging bays, ChargeSini is also imposing a High Occupancy Fee of RM1 for every 5 minutes (RM12 per hour) if you don’t move your vehicle after charging is completed. This High Occupancy Fee will be charged when both charging bays are occupied.
If you plan to charge your EV overnight, the idle fees are waived between 12:00am to 9:00am daily. This makes it ideal for residents to charge their EVs overnight and there’s no need to move the vehicle when charging is completed during odd hours. Just move the vehicle the next day before 9:00am to avoid idle fee charges.
Since these EV charge points are 3-phase 22kW AC units, EVs with a single-phase AC onboard charger (e.g. BYD Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal and GWM Ora Good Cat) will be able to get their maximum supported charging rate (6-7kW) from these units. If you have an EV with a 22kW onboard charger like the Smart #1, you can easily get a full charge in just over 3 hours.
