While Time has yet to revise the pricing for its home fibre offering, the broadband provider has started rolling out a free speed boost for its existing home broadband customers starting last week. The free upgrade appears to be part of its loyalty programme running from 27th March until 7th April 2024.
Free speed upgrade up to 200Mbps
From the looks of it, existing 100Mbps Time Fibre Home customers are getting a double-speed upgrade to 200Mbps, while users on 300Mbps will get bumped up to 500Mbps. Meanwhile, 500Mbps customers are upgraded to 600Mbps. Customers can enjoy the new upgraded speeds without any changes to their monthly subscription fee and contract. On top of that, Time is also offering free router upgrade with a contract renewal.
Free device upgrade with contract renewal
According to the Time Fibre Home Promo terms and conditions, existing customers on the 200Mbps plan are eligible to get a WiFi 6 router (worth RM399) on a 24-month contract. Alternatively, they can get a free WiFi 6 router and a WiFi 6 Mesh Node if they upgrade to the higher 600Mbps or 1Gbps plans. Meanwhile, customers who choose to upgrade to the highest 2Gbps plan will get a 2Gbps WiFi 6 router (worth RM899).
The free router and mesh device redemption is available from 27th March until 30th June 2024. It is offered to existing Time Fibre Home customers who have completed a minimum 20-month subscription period under their current Time Fire Home Plan. It is mentioned that eligible customers with 600Mbps and 1Gbps plans who signed up for the FTTR package are not eligible for the free device redemption upon plan upgrade or contract renewal.
Eligible customer can choose to opt-in via Time’s self care portal or through Time’s authorised telemarketers during the campaign period.
At the moment, Time is offering 100Mbps for RM99/month while the 500Mbps plan is offered for RM139/month. If you want Gigabit speeds, the 1Gbps plan is going for RM199/month while the highest 2Gbps option is now going for RM379/month. As part of its current promo, customers can enjoy the first month’s subscription for free. In addition, new 500Mbps fbre customers can also enjoy a discounted monthly subscription fee of just RM99/month for the first 6 months.
