Aside from their flagship Predator Helios series of gaming laptops, Acer has also introduced the more accessible Predator Helios Neo 16 to our shores. Despite being more affordable, the Predator Helios Neo 16 is still a very capable machine packing a high refresh rate display and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070.
There will be three configurations of the Predator Helios Neo 16 in Malaysia, which are:
They are already available for purchase from the Acer Malaysia eStore, Acer official stores on Shopee and Lazada as well as all Acer authorised retailers nationwide. In fact, if you snag one any time from now till 7 March, you’ll be able to get it with a RM500 discount too.
As its name implies, the Predator Helios Neo 16 comes with a 16-inch display, with all models getting an IPS panel pushing a WQXGA (2560 x 1600p) resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, as well as 500nits of brightness and a 3ms response time. If you get the RTX 4060 models, you’ll find that the display is capable of a 165Hz refresh rate and covers the sRGB colour gamut, while the RTX 4070 model can output up to a 240Hz refresh rate and covers the full DCI-P3 colour gamut instead.
Under the hood, you’ll find an Intel Core i5-14500HX on the base model and an Intel Core i7-14700HX on the other two configurations. A 1TB SSD is stock across the board, with your choice between an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or the RTX 4070. Also, while the RTX 4060 models do come with only 8GB of RAM out of the box, all three models can be upgraded to up to 64GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM; the RTX 4070 models comes with 16GB of RAM from the factory.
Other features of note include an RGB backlit keyboard, stereo speakers with DTS X Ultra Audio, a 1080p webcam and a 90Wh battery that Acer says will be good for up to six hours of video playback. You’ll also find two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a HDMI 2.1 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, a microSD card reader, a 2.5G Ethernet port and a 3.5mm audio jack. There’s support for WiFI 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity too.
