On top of the higher end Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, Xiaomi is also launching the more affordable Redmi Note 13 5G and the Redmi Note 13 4G. Despite different wireless capabilities and silicon under the hood, they’re still fairly similar midrange smartphones.
The Redmi Note 13 5G will be available in just a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Redmi Note 13 4G will be available in both a 6GB+128GB and an 8GB+256GB configuration. Here’s how much they will cost:
You’ll be able to get them from 20 January onwards from all authorised Xiaomi retailers and the official Xiaomi store on Shopee and Lazada. As part of the launch promotion, the base model Redmi Note 13 4G will also be available for just RM699 exclusively on Shopee. That’s on top of Xiaomi throwing in a free Redmi Buds 4 Active worth RM119 for all purchases of the Redmi Note 13 5G on Lazada and all purchases of the Redmi Note 13 4G on Shopee during the promo period.
First up we have the Redmi Note 13 5G. It features a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display pushing a 2400 x 1080p resolution with an up to 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is also capable of a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a peak brightness of 1,000nits, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 over it too for scratch resistance.
Powering the Redmi Note 13 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6080, with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage as well as support for expandable memory of up to 1TB. Just like its Pro stable mates though the Redmi Note 13 5G will come with Android 13 skinned with MIUI 14 over it rather than the new Xiaomi HyperOS operating system.
In the camera department meanwhile is a 108MP, f/1.7 main camera with 9-in-1 pixel binning to 1.92μm pixel flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide camera as well as a 2MP, f/2.4 macro sensor. Up front in the punch hole cutout is a 16MP camera for all your selfie needs.
Elsewhere, the Redmi Note 13 5G has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, an IR blaster, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, an IP54 dust and water resistance rating and wireless support for WiFI 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and 5G. You’ll be able to get the Redmi Note 13 5G in Graphite Black, Ocean Teal and Arctic White colourways.
As for the 4G-only version of the Redmi Note 13, it shares a similarly sized 6.67-inch, FHD+ AMOLED display with most of the same capabilities such as a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The only major differences here is that the 4G device can do a higher 1,800nits peak brightness and has a layer of the older Corning Gorilla Glass 3 over it for scratch resistance.
Because this is a 4G-only device, Xiaomi has swapped out the MediaTek chip for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685, with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage along with support for up to 1TB of expandable storage. You’ll also find Android 13 here out of the box skinned with MIUI 14 over it.
The cameras here on the Redmi Note 13 4G are exactly the same as its 5G-supporting sibling, with a main 108MP rear camera flanked by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro with a 16MP front camera rounding it off. Also just like the 5G version is a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, an IP54 rating and a 3.5mm audio jack, though it does get stereo speakers. You’ll be able to get it in Midnight Black, Mint Green, Ice Blue and Ocean Sunset.
