OPPO has officially confirmed that it will be launching the Reno 11 Series in Malaysia soon. The company has since opened up registration of interest for Malaysian customers which also allows them to secure pre-order goodies.
The pre-order freebies for the OPPO Reno 11 Series generally depend on where you placed it. The first option is via this Registration of Interest (RoI) form.
If you choose to go through this route, you will then be contacted by OPPO Malaysia who will provide a RM100 rebate voucher. You can then use the voucher to purchase either Reno 11 or Reno 11 Pro on 11 and 12 January 2024.
In addition to that, you will also be provided with an OPPO SuperVOOC 80W car charger and cable worth RM178 if you getting your hands on the Reno 11 Pro. For the standard variant, you will receive an OPPO Enco Buds2 worth RM129 instead.
Regardless of the variant they prefer, pre-order customers will also receive a 1-year extended warranty worth RM109 for free. They will also be in the run to become one of 10 lucky customers to have their Reno 11 delivered by actresses Amelia Henderson and Jovane PJY.
Alternatively, you can skip the RoI form and go directly to OPPO Malaysia’s online store. Over there, you can pre-order the new smartphone series by paying RM11 although this amount will be returned to you in the form of an RM111 voucher.
In case you are confused as to why you would receive an RM111 voucher, this is because it also includes the RM100 rebate for early bird customers. While all customers who pre-order their Reno 11 Series devices through OPPO Malaysia’s online store will also receive the 1-year extended warranty, they will be provided with Enco 2 true wireless earbuds regardless of whether they purchase the Pro or standard variant.
Meanwhile, you may receive additional freebies if you pre-order the Reno 11 Series from certain retailers. For example, the first 11 customers who place their pre-orders through DirectD can choose either a Gaabor Mini Air Fryer or a Bluetooth speaker as a gift on top of the freebies that OPPO has provided.
This applies to both the standard Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro although the pre-order deposit at DirectD is much higher at RM100. In addition to that, we don’t see any mention of the RM100 rebate on the listings on the retailer’s website.
On a related note, the RoI form has also mentioned that customers can have a closer look at the Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro during the OPPO Reno 11 Series O-Time event. It is scheduled to take place at selected OPPO Brand Stores throughout Malaysia on Sunday, 7 January 2024.
If you are interested in attending this preview event, you can choose your preferred OPPO Brand Store and reserve your slot through another form that OPPO Malaysia has put up online.
At the moment, OPPO has yet to reveal the full specifications for the Reno 11 Series in Malaysia though. Only selected features have been mentioned on OPPO Malaysia’s website such as ColorOS 14 and 32MP telephoto portrait camera.
The site has also confirmed that the Reno 11 Pro for Malaysia will support the 80W SuperVOOC fast charging feature. For the standard model, the SuperVOOC support is limited to 67W.
Based on the product images that we have seen on OPPO Malaysia’s website and social media channels, it is rather likely that the Reno 11 Series devices for our market will have some major differences from the version released in China. This is because we noticed some differences in their product photos such as the camera module on the green-coloured device which is a standard Reno 11.
In case you need a reference though, the Reno 11 Pro was launched in China with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor alongside 12GB LPDDR5x and up to 512GB UFS 3.1-based storage. The phone also features a 6.74-inch OLED display with curved edges, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a resolution of 2772 x 1240.
OPPO has also equipped the Reno 11 Pro with a tri-camera module on its back featuring a main camera that has a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, 24mm-equivalent f/1.8 six-elements lens, and optical image stabilization (OIS) system. Capping its main specifications is a dual-cell battery with a total capacity of 4700mAh and support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
As for the standard Reno 11, it is running on a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB internal storage. The phone has a smaller 6.7-inch OLED display with 2412 x 1080 resolution although it still offers 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
While the main shooter on the Reno 11’s rear tri-camera module also has a 50MP sensor, it is a Sony LYT600 instead of an IMX890. It is also being paired with a different 26mm-equivalent five-element lens although still has the same f/1.8 aperture and OIS.
In terms of battery, OPPO has chosen the more traditional single-cell 4680mAh battery for the vanilla Reno 11. The phone’s SuperVOOC fast charging speed is slightly lower at 67W though.
Both Reno 11 variants also carry an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP telephoto portrait camera. Last but not least, they also have a 32MP selfie camera with auto-focus capability.
