Fresh off the launch of the new 14th Gen Intel Core Ultra lineup of mobile processors, manufacturers are now announcing their new laptops too powered by the Meteor Lake silicon. One of these early adopters is Asus, with the Taiwanese giant refreshing their flagship Zenbook 14 OLED with the new Intel Core Ultra processors.
As has always been the case with the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, the star of the show here is its gorgeous 14-inch, OLED display. It pushes a 2880 x 1800p resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, and is capable of an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate too with a peak brightness of 600nits when in HDR and a typical brightness of 400nits. The display also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and comes with DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. There’s also a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass over it for extra durability.
Under the hood though is where you’ll find the brand new Intel Core Ultra processors. The Zenbook 14 OLED will come with your choice of either the Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 155H or the Intel Core Ultra 5 Processor 125H, with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X onboard memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage. It will run Windows 11 out of the box, and perhaps thanks to the Intel Core Ultra’s NPU, Asus is also touting the Zenbook 14 OLED’s capabilities in AI-related workloads.
As for I/O, the thin-and-light gets a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports with support for display output and power delivery, a HDMI 2.1 output and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Wireless connectivity meanwhile is taken care of with support for WiFI 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Keeping the lights on is a 75Wh battery that Asus says will last for up to 15 hours of use. Other features of note include an FHD webcam with Windows Hello and privacy shutter, a backlit chiclet keyboard and Harman Kardon-tuned speakers, all in a chassis that’s just 14.9mm thick and 1.2kg light.
As for pricing and availability, the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED with the new Intel Core Ultra processors will launch globally in early 2024, with a starting price tag of USD1,299 (~RM6,060.48) in the United States. No word on local pricing and availability just yet, but Asus Malaysia have hinted that they will be bringing it to Malaysia very soon.
