Car subscription service Flux has added Smart #1 Brabus into its EV catalogue. What made this rather interesting is the fact that this is happening ahead of the EV’s grand launch event which will take place on 21 November.
The Brabus version is essentially the highest-end variant that the Smart #1 family has to offer at the moment. Its official pricing will only be announced at the launch event but Smart Malaysia has previously said that the EV will likely be priced at RM250,000.
Smart #1 Brabus Flux pricing
Just like existing Flux offerings, the subscription fee for Smart #1 Brabus depends on the duration of the contract you choose. As a rule of thumb, the longer your contract goes, the lower your monthly fee will be.
Here is how much the monthly subscription fee that Flux has set for Smart #1 Brabus for now:
- Smart #1 Brabus Flux 12-month: RM6,900 / month
- Smart #1 Brabus Flux 24-month: RM6,350 / month
- Smart #1 Brabus Flux 36-month: RM5,750 / month
Flux will also provide a free AC charger for the 36-month plan. However, it is unclear whether customers have to pay for the installation fees or otherwise.
Do note that you also have to pay an upfront fee of between RM4,313 to RM4,929 depending on your contract duration. The EV is not available with monthly and 60-month plans at the moment though.
Smart #1 Brabus Flux mileage package
Aside from the monthly fee, you also have to consider the mileage fee in your budget if you are planning to obtain the Smart #1 Brabus through Flux. The subscription plan does come with a 1,250km monthly mileage quota by default but if you want to drive the EV much further, then you have to sign up for the mileage package:
- Smart #1 Brabus Flux Standard mileage package – 2,000km: RM600 / month
- Smart #1 Brabus Flux Plus mileage package – 2,750km: RM1,200 / month
- Smart #1 Brabus Flux Unlimited mileage package: RM2,650 / month
With the exception of Unlimited mileage package, customers will be charged RM3.00 per km if they exceed their mileage quota.
Smart #1 Brabus quick specs, first drive impression
Equipped with two electric motors and an all-wheel drive setup, the Smart #1 Brabus has a total output of 315kW (422hp) alongside 543Nm of torque. This allows the EV to go from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds, matching its status as a Brabus-tuned vehicle.
In terms of battery, it shares the same 66kWh battery pack with the Smart #1 Premium variant. Since it has a much higher performance, the WLTP-rated range of the Brabus variant is slightly lower at 400km as compared to its Premium counterpart which can go as far as 440km.
Charging-wise, it takes less than three hours to charge the EV from 10 to 80% via its onboard 22kW AC charger. On the other hand, a 150kW DC fast charger can reduce that charging time to under 30 minutes.
