Prime Video, the streaming service, is continuing to expand its presence in Malaysia. Just a few months since releasing That Cover Girl, the first Malaysian Amazon Original series, they are now teasing the first ever Malaysian Amazon Original film, Budak Flat. It will be debuting exclusively on Prime Video in Malaysia and 24 other countries in Asia from 16 November onwards.
Budak Flat is a gritty crime thriller set in a derelict flat in Kuala Lumpur, and tells the story of two brothers: Aman and Riz. One is a petty thief and another a drug lord, with each becoming their own worst enemy. As Aman finds himself accused of murdering a gang member, he has to find the real killer before Riz and his gang get to him. The war between the two brothers not only affects them, but the people around them living in their neglected flat too.

“Budak Flat aims to capture the dilemma faced when we have to choose between family and our own personal choice. For two brothers trying to survive in a rough neighbourhood, these pressures culminate in a gripping, violent climax that spills over to the community.
Using iconic flats in downtown Kuala Lumpur at the setting of the story, I wanted to capture the diversity, texture and the unique rugged feel of the flat and its community,” – Eugene Lim, director
Produced by Skop Productions with Syafiq Yusof acting as an advisor, Budak Flat is co-directed by the trio of Eugene Lim, Woo Ming Jin and Faizal Ishak. It also stars the likes of Zahiril Adzim, Pablo Amirul, Nabila Huda, Balan Kash and Aaron Aziz.
As mentioned earlier, Budak Flat will be available on Prime Video from 16 November onwards.
