Alongside the more high end Surface Laptop Studio 2, Microsoft has also announced the arrival of the Surface Laptop Go 3 to our shores. This is their more mainstream, entry level laptop for everyday users that Microsoft had just only refreshed with updated hardware a month ago.

Surface Laptop Go 3 specs
The Surface Laptop Go 3 is mostly a minor update for Microsoft’s cheapest Surface Laptop offering, with the upgrades happening under the hood. This latest revision now has a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U under the hood, a step up from the Surface Laptop Go 2’s Intel Core i5-1135G7. Local units will come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 256GB SSD; the models with 512GB SSDs sadly won’t be coming to Malaysia officially.
Curiously, Microsoft did not upgrade the display on the Surface Laptop Go 3. This means that it still carries the same 12.4-inch PixelSense display as its predecessor, pushing a rather meagre 1536 x 1024p resolution with a pixel density of 148PPI in their signature 3:2 aspect ratio, with the panel also capable of a peak brightness of 320nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and full coverage of the sRGB colour gamut.
Microsoft has also kitted out the Surface Laptop Go 3 with a battery capable of a 15-hour battery, a 720p webcam, a hardware TPM 2.0 chip for enhanced security, Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio Premium and a fingerprint reader on the power button allowing for Windows Hello. As for I/O you get a USB-C 3.2 port, a USB-A 3.1 port, a 3.5mm audio jack and a Surface Connect port for charging. Thanks to its small size, aluminium lid and polycarbonate body, the Surface Laptop Go 3 is also quite light, weighing just 1.13kg.
