CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) and Time dotCom (TIme) have announced a collaboration to provide more home fibre broadband options across Malaysia. Under the collaboration, CelcomDigi will be able to leverage Time’s fibre broadband infrastructure to extend its home fibre offerings to more Malaysians, especially those who are living in condominiums and apartments.
By tapping on Time’s fibre network, CelcomDigi customers can enjoy high-speed broadband up to 1Gbps, high upload speeds via Time’s symmetric downlink and uplink speed and faster fibre installation. According to the official statement, the collaboration allows CelcomDigi to quickly roll out Internet services in a more cost-efficient manner, in line with Malaysia’s digital aspirations.
CelcomDigi Deputy CEO Albern Murty said the collaboration with Time is a strong start for CelcomDigi to expand its connectivity footprint for more Malaysians to enjoy a seamless and consistent internet experience in and outside the home. He added, “Our customers can now have affordable convergence solutions for their Internet and lifestyle needs. There will be more future initiatives that will benefit Malaysians from our strategic partnership with Time.”
Commenting on the collaboration, Time Executive Director Datuk Zainal Amanshah said, “We’ve made access to Time’s gig-speed network available to Internet service providers for some time now and we’re happy to support in delivering fast, consistent Internet connectivity to CelcomDigi customers. We believe gig-speed Internet should be made available to as many Malaysians as possible and we continue to expand our coverage across Malaysia to that end.”
Prior to the Celcom-Digi merger, Digi had previously signed a similar partnership to tap into Time’s existing fibre broadband infrastructure to expand its fibre footprint. Eventually, Digi expanded its footprint further with agreements signed with TM’s HSBB network and TNB’s Allo.
In case you missed it, CelcomDigi had recently revised its fibre broadband pricing to match TM’s Unifi pricing. It now offers 100Mbps for RM99/month, 300Mbps for RM139/month, 500Mbps for RM159/month, 800Mbps for RM249/month and 1Gbps for RM289/month. Eligible CelcomDigi postpaid customers can enjoy additional rebates when they add a fibre broadband plan to their subscriptions.
