The Asus ROG Phone 6 has seen a number of different versions, from a MediaTek-powered ROG Phone 6D series to an ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition and even an ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition. It’s since been superseded by the ROG Phone 7 series, but that hasn’t stopped Asus from launching last year’s model again, this time in collaboration with Moonton for the ROG Phone 6 MLBB Edition.

The ROG Phone 6 MLBB Edition will come in just one configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at RM2,299. That’s a pretty significant price cut from the original RM3,599 price tag that the regular ROG Phone 6 debuted for, even before you take into account the extras you’re getting such as the AeroActive Cooler 6 and the MLBB goodies.
It is already available from 12 October onwards from all ROG authorised retailers nationwide, as well as Asus Malaysia’s official eStore and their platforms on Shopee and Lazada. Furthermore, the first 500 people to buy a ROG Phone 6 MLBB Edition will also be able to get 500 MLBB Diamonds in-game.

The ROG Phone 6 MLBB Edition is very much just your bog standard ROG Phone 6 from last year with a slew of goodies in the box. MLBB players will surely recognise the hero Yu Zhong, the Black Dragon reincarnate, plastered over a special custom case. In the box, you’ll also find an MLBB badge holder, a keychain of Moskov’s Doom Incarnate skin, an MLBB-themed screen-cleaning cloth and an AeroActive Cooler 6, which previously only came with the ROG Phone 6 Pro when it debuted.
Other than that though, the ROG Phone 6 itself is actually the exact same as the one from last year, with the only notable difference being an MLBB theme within the software of the phone itself as well as the game being preloaded on the device. This special edition bundle actually came together thanks to a recent partnership between ROG and the publisher of MLBB, Moonton Games, with ROG the official sponsor of the upcoming MLBB M5 World Championship 2023 and the ROG Phone 6 the official smartphone of the tournament.
The phone itself features a large 6,78-inch, FHD+ AMOLED display that pushes an insanely fast 165Hz refresh rate, a 720Hz touch sampling rate, a 23ms touch latency and a 1ms response time. The panel also boasts colour accuracy of a Delta E average < 1 and a peak brightness of 1200nits, with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus over it for scratch resistance. On the back meanwhile is an illuminated ROG Matrix panel.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 system-on-chip, mated to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It may not be the latest and greatest mobile silicon anymore, but will be more than enough to run MLBB at its highest settings. The ROG Phone 6 MLBB Edition will also have a bunch of gaming-focused features like the Asus Armoury Crate and Game Genie allowing you to tweak performance settings to your liking.
The cameras meanwhile aren’t exactly the main focus here, but as our review of it last year showed, it certainly ain’t bad either. There’s a main 50MP camera flanked by a 13MP ultrawide shooter and a 5MP macro sensor while in front is a 12MP selfie camera. On the sides of the device you’ll notice two touch sensors too, with these AirTriggers acting as shoulder buttons in game. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a huge 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. Other features of note include a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo front-facing speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual USB-C ports.
