The new Samsung Galaxy S23 FE marks the return of the Fan Edition moniker, aimed at bringing the full-fat S23 experience to a more accessible price point. Ahead of it going on sale this Tuesday, 10 October, the company has announced the launch promo for the entry-level flagship device.
As a refresher, the S23 FE is available with either 128GB or 256GB of storage; both configurations come with 8GB of RAM. The official retail prices are as follows:
- Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (8GB RAM+128GB storage) – RM2,999
- Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (8GB RAM+256GB storage) – RM3,299
From 10 October to 30 November, Samsung is offering the S23 FE with a double storage upgrade, meaning that you get 256GB of storage for the RM2,999 base price—a RM300 saving. You can also register as a #GalaxyTroop member to receive an additional RM500 voucher, effectively bringing the price down to RM2,499.
To do so, you’ll have to attend the ongoing SneakerLAH event—which Samsung is a sponsor of—at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) today or tomorrow (7 to 8 October) and scan a QR code at the Samsung booth. You can also find the link on Samsung Malaysia’s website on October 10, while Samsung Members will receive it through email.
Additionally, those who trade in their old devices will receive a rebate of up to RM350, resulting in a total saving of RM1,150. Buyers will also receive up to 30% purchase-with-purchase discounts on Samsung Care+ extended protection, selected Galaxy Tabs and Buds and official accessories.
To recap, the S23 FE is powered by a Samsung Exynos 2200 chip, the same one found in the S22 in certain markets (we got the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1). It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a hole-punch 10MP selfie camera. Flip the phone and you’ll find triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter.
Juicing the phone is a 4,500mAh battery that can be charged at up to 25W wired and 15W wirelessly. Other features include 5G, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, NFC, an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The S23 FE ships with Android 13 skinned with One UI 5.1, and as usual you’ll get four years of major Android updates and five years of security patches.
