Lim Tayar has partnered with Shell Malaysia to operate Shell Helix Service Centres nationwide. In addition to that, Lim Tayar has also deployed a Shell Recharge EV charging location at its premises.

Lim Tayar aims to operate 30 Shell Helix Centres nationwide by 2025

Under the partnership, Lim Tayar currently operates five Shell service centres nationwide located at select Shell petrol stations in the Klang Valley. It aims to expand its operations of Shell Helix Service Centres to 30 centres nationwide by 2025 with the aim to provide accessible quality services to more Malaysians.

Clement Lim, Joint Managing Director of Lim Tayar’s parent CKL Group of Companies said the partnerships have been part of the DNA of the brand. He said the partnership with Shell has solidified the status of Lim Tayar being able to constantly evolve and stay relevant to their customers. He added that customers now have the convenience to purchase a wide selection of tyres in addition to the Shell lubricants at these stores.

Seow Lee Ming, General Manager of Shell Mobility, Malaysia said they are constantly looking at ways to expand its range of services to bring more value to their customers. The collaboration was forged as Shell sees a huge potential to give customers better and higher quality car maintenance services and other vehicle needs at Shell.

The five Lim Tayar-operated Shell Helix Service Centres are located at Shell Bangi 1, Shell Jalan 222 Petaling Jaya, Shell Jalan Cheras BT 12 1/2, Shell Jalan Cheras Batu 4 and Shell Bandar Sri Damansara 3.

By the end of 2023, they will operate five more centres located at Jalan Gasing Petaling Jaya, SH Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim, Shell Shah Alam Seksyen 16, Shell Jalan Ampang KL Bound and Shell Salak South.

Shell Recharge at Lim Tayar TTDI

The Shell Recharge station at Lim Tayar TTDI is not only the first DC charger in a tyre retail store in Malaysia but it’s also the first DC charger in TTDI. It is also said to be the first Shell Recharge location to adopt kWh-based pricing.

It uses a 30kW StarCharge DC charger that comes with a single CCS2 nozzle. According to the ParkEasy app, the charger costs RM1.30 per kWh and there’s also a RM5.00 confirmation fee when you book. The location also imposes an idle fee of RM1 per 5 minutes if you don’t move you car 15 minutes after charging is completed.

Similar to other Shell Recharge locations, you’ll need to use the ParkEasy app to reserve the charging bay and activate the charger. The EV charging bay is equipped with an automatic parking barrier to prevent hoggers.
