Shell Malaysia has unveiled the new Star Wars Racers Collection which will be making its way into Shell Stations nationwide later this week. Made in collaboration with Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, Malaysia is the first market in the world to receive the new remote-control car series.
Shell’s Star Wars Racers Collection consisted of six vehicles inspired by iconic Star Wars characters including Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Darth Maul, The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, and BB-8. They will be released in stages starting 6 October with new models to be released every week.
In case you wondering why the release schedule sounds so familiar, this is because it generally followed the same staggered release method as last year’s Shell Motorsport Collection. In fact, the Shell Star Wars Racers Collection still uses the same Bluetooth Remote Control Battery module that was developed by Brandbase for the 2022 collection.
In addition to that, you can also this year’s vehicles with the same Shell Racing mobile app which also doubles as a racing game. Shell Malaysia has also retained the same price tag of RM30.00 for the battery module.
Speaking about the price, the Star Wars Racers Collection costs more than the Shell Motorsport Collection though. Instead of RM30, this year’s remote-control cars are priced at RM49.90 each although the pre-requisite minimum amount of fuel purchase is still the same at RM50.00.
This is except for the Darth Vader Racer which is provided for free with a purchase of a Shell Helix Ultra 4L lubricant. Alternatively, you can get the car with Shell Helix Power 4L lubricant as well.
If you planning to collect all six remote-control cars from the Shell Star Wars Racers Collection, then you may want to consider getting your hand on the Collector Casing which costs RM89.90. However, you must pump at least RM80.00 worth of Shell V-Power Racing fuel before you can purchase it.
In case you want to have a closer look at them before making your decision, the collection is currently on display at the Shell Star Wars Racers roadshow in Sunway Pyramid until this coming Sunday, 8 October.
