[ UPDATE 06/10/2023 02:21 ] Maxis services have been restored back to normal according to a tweet from the telco that was posted at 1:45 AM. However, the cause behind the disruptions was not revealed.

For the second time in a week, Maxis customers are experiencing difficulties accessing the telco’s services. It is unclear whether today’s disruptions are related to what happened earlier this week.

Almost 30 minutes after we asked SoyaCincau.com followers on Facebook and X whether they are facing any disruptions with their Maxis services, the telco’s dedicated customer service account at X, @MaxisListens has published this statement via two tweets:

“We are aware that some of our customers have been experiencing service disruptions including the services of our apps. Our teams are working hard to resolve the matter as soon as possible. (1)

Thank you for your understanding and patience, and we apologise for the inconvenience during this time. You should experience improvements and full recovery of service soon. (2)” – @MaxisListens

This time around, the telco has also put a notice on the Network Maintenance section of its website which said that the service disruptions started at 8:30 PM. No reasons were provided but the notice did say that it is happening in scattered areas throughout Malaysia and affects both voice as well as mobile data services.

This is a slight departure compared to earlier this week whereby the telco pretty much went radio silence (no pun intended) and didn’t release any direct statement regarding the prolonged disruptions that it experienced on 3 October.

That being said, Maxis didn’t say when exactly its services will go back to normal. So, it looks like it is going to be a long night for some Maxis customers out there.
