If you are into foldables, but not looking to buy a Samsung device – have you checked out the Huawei Mate X3? The model was launched in Malaysia just a few months ago in May – and now Huawei Malaysia has just cut the recommended retail price of the phone.

Huawei Mate X3 Malaysia Updated Pricing

There is still only one variant of the Mate X3 available in Malaysia – with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This time, however, Huawei even cut down the colour options available to the customers – There is only the Dark Green listed on the official Huawei website.

The price cut sees the Mate X3 now sporting a retail price of RM 7,288, a massive RM 1,600 price cut versus the original launch price.

If you are interested in getting the phone, the new price is only available from selected Huawei Experience Stores – so no online purchases for the new price.

You can check out the list of Huawei Experience Stores right here.

Huawei Mate X3 specs

As a recap, the Huawei Mate X3 has the same screen as the Mate X2, so it is a competitor for phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Honor Magic Vs. It is only about 11mm thick and weighs 241 grams.

On the cover, it gets a 6.4″ Full HD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED panel with Kunlun glass while the inside gets a larger 7.85″ 120Hz flexible OLED display that pushes a resolution of 2496×2224 pixels. The hinge also boasts the Flex Stop mode to prop the Mate X3 at various angles to take a selfie or group photo, or to accept a video call hands-free.

There are three cameras at the back – a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 12MP f/3.4 periscope camera. Each screen gets an 8Mp selfie camera.

The Huawei Mate X3 still gets a large 4,800mAh battery which supports 66W wired SuperCharge via USB-C and it also supports 50W Wireless SuperCharge despite the ultra-thin design. As usual with any new Huawei device, the Mate X3 lacks 5G support and access to the Google Play Store. To discover and download apps, you’ll have to use the Huawei AppGallery.

Out of the box, it runs on Android 13 with EMUI 13.1 skin on top.
