Apple’s most important product event is coming in less than 48 hours, and we can clearly expect the iPhone 15 to be announced during the event.

The event is called “Wonderlust” and we are set to see some updates across the iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch lineup during the event.

The most significant announcement will be the iPhone 15, which includes the standard and the Pro models. The biggest feature to appear on the iPhone will be the introduction of USB-C on the iPhones. This year we are also getting the Max version in the Pro lineup.

Apple Watch – what can we expect?

From the reports from renowned Apple analyst Mark Gurman, we are getting two updated models – the Apple Watch Series 9, and a new Ultra model. The former will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, while the Ultra will stick to the massive 49mm size like the previous generation.

The design of the Series 9 will more or less be the same as the Series 8, which is based on a design that was introduced in 2018. Apple is planning to add new materials and colours to the lineup, and interestingly, a black Ultra is going to be available as an option.

What will be new this year for the watches will be performance – as Apple is going to upgrade the processors for major gains in processing speeds. The watch is set to receive a new chip since the major upgrade seen way back with the Series 6.

We are also getting the latest U2 Ultrawide-band chip for better Find My capabilities, along with newer sensors for the heart rate monitor and other internal sensors.

Apple is also said to move to 3D printing for the device cases. Instead of casting or milling the steel cases for the Series 9, the case is said to be 3D printed, as part of the company’s environmental push for the watch production.

Other updates include not offering leather watch bands the stainless-steel link bracelets for the upcoming models.

Apple AirPods – what can we expect?

Following the move to USB-C for the iPhones, Apple will be phasing out the lighting connectors on the AirPods Pro and move to USB-C. The same move will also happen for the lower-end AirPods and AirPods Max by next year.

We will not see any new hardware updates with the AirPods – but expect some software updates designed to bring improved automatic device switching, a mute button on the AirPods themselves, and a new feature called Conversation Awareness, which automatically silences the media playing when it senses people speaking to the wearer.

Health is also coming to the AirPods, with body-temperature sensing and hearing test coming as new health feature to the AirPods, but the features will be released later on.

While waiting for the launch event, dont forget to check out our AirPods Pro review right here.
