After first showing it off during Computex 2023, Acer is finally bringing in their latest Swift Edge 16 to Malaysia. Just like its predecessor, the Swift Edge 16 features a huge 16-inch OLED display along with capable processors under the hood, all while being not too expensive either.

Available in two configurations, the Acer Swift 16 is already on sale from the Acer Malaysia eStore, with the first 30 customers who purchase the Swift Edge 16 eligible to free gifts worth up to RM948, which include a backpack, wireless mouse and Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit as well as the chance to win a monthly giveaway from a prize pool worth up to RM100,000 from Acer.

The Acer Swift Edge 16’s biggest selling point is quite literally its uber large display. It packs a huge 16-inch, 16:10 OLED display pushing a WQUXGA (3840 x 2400p) resolution that’s capable of a 120Hz refresh rate too, as well as a 0.2ms response time and full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display also has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a peak brightness of 500nits and has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.
Under the hood you’ll find AMD’s Rembrandt-R mobile processors, with your option of either the AMD Ryzen 5 7535U and the AMD Ryzen 7 7735U. That gets mated to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM with up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage. Keeping it cool meanwhile is a TwinAir cooling system with improved fan and an air inlet keyboard design.
As for I/O you’ll find a single HDMI 2.1 port as well as two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB-C 4 ports, a microSD card reader and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 54Wh battery that’s rated for nine hours of battery life. There’s also an FHD webcam above the display, while for wireless connectivity it supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The whole laptop weighs just 1.17kg despite its large size, and measures just 12.95mm thick.
