One of the most popular action cameras will be seeing a new model come 6 September. GoPro is expected to launch the Hero 12 Black globally. We saw the previous model, Hero 11 Black, launched around the same time last year. So the timeline is right for a new model to be released from the team at GoPro.
Thanks to leak sources online, marketing photos was revealed. Not only that, but the full retail packaging was also shared online. One interesting point we saw while perusing the marketing material online is the phrase “All-new”. Does this mean that we will be seeing anything big from them?
From the looks of it, not much. The camera will still shoot 27MP photos and up to 5.3K 60fps videos, inherited from the Hero 11 Black. It can withstand water up to 10 metres, for scuba diving sessions. Plus, the Hypersmooth video stabilization is still present, now in version 6.0.
The camera now supports auto-uploads to the cloud via Wifi presumably, with a GoPro subscription of course. Based on the leaked retail packaging, the battery will be removable – just like the Hero 11 Black. We do not have any idea on the runtime of the batteries, but here hoping it will be longer than the previous model.
There is no official time for the official launch of the GoPro Hero 12 Black has been shared. At the same time, there are no official or unofficial news on a successor to the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini, so those hoping that a smaller camera will be available may need to sit tight a bit longer.
