[ UPDATE 4/9/2023 12:00 ] Celcom Mega 80 postpaid customers who need more data quota can add RM10/month to get the 5G booster with an extra 60GB of data.

===

CelcomDigi has confirmed to us recently that its eligible postpaid plans of RM90/month and above will continue to enjoy free 5G access until further notice. If you’re an existing Celcom Mega 80 postpaid customer, turns out you can also enjoy 5G access on Digital Nasional Berhad’s network for free.

To recap, Celcom is currently offering free 5G access via its Booster pass which is available for Mega 98, 128, 158 and 188 plans. Customers on lower postpaid plans such as Xpax Postpaid 60, Xpax Postpaid 40 and Mega Family are required to pay RM10/month to access 5G.

According to Celcom’s 5G FAQ, Celcom Mega 80 Lightning customers are eligible to enjoy the 5G Booster Pass for Free as listed below. However, if you need more quota, you won’t be able to get the RM10/month 5G Booster with an extra 90GB 5G/4G internet option. Instead, you’ll have to pay RM10/month for the 5G Booster + 60GB extra data option.

To activate the 5G Booster, you’ll need to use the Celcom Life App (Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Huawei AppGallery) and you can find the option under the Add-ons tab. Once activated, the 5G booster will be automatically renewed for you for the next billing cycle. Take note that the 5G Booster is only for your main line and it isn’t shared with your supplementary lines under the same account.

Thanks Steven for the tip!
