GoCar has announced the addition of Renault Zoe to its GoEV Share fleet. The new offering is the third EV that the car-sharing and subscription company has added into the service this year after the Ora Good Cat and first-generation Nissan Leaf.
Just to be clear, the Renault Zoe that has just been added to the GoEV service is not the version that was used by SoCar and COMOS a few years ago. Instead, this is the latest generation Zoe which was officially released in Malaysia earlier this year.
GoEV Renault Zoe location, rental fee
At the moment, the Renault Zoe can only be obtained at the GoEV Zone in Suria KLCC which was established through a partnership with Gentari and KLCC Parking Management. The area occupies bays 204 and 205 of Pillar 12C in the shopping mall’s Level P2 car park.
Here is how much GoCar charges to rent the Renault Zoe:
- Base rate: RM23.90/hour
- 1 – 2 days: RM199/day
- 3 days and above: RM189/day
In general, you are looking at a rental rate that can be as low as RM7.88 per hour depending on the rental duration. As a comparison, the second-generation pre-facelift Nissan Leaf which is also available for rental at the same location has a rental fee range of between RM5 to RM17.90 per hour.
Unlike the Nissan Leaf, GoCar does not provide an EV charging cable and charging card for the Renault Zoe though. On top of that, customers have to bear the charging fee themselves.
To reduce the rental cost, you can use the GOGENTARIEV promo code to get a discount of up to RM60. Also applicable for the Nissan Leaf, this promo code will expire on 30 September.
Renault Zoe R110 quick specs
In Malaysia, the Renault Zoe is available in two variants although the version that GoCar has chosen for its GoEV service is the lower-end R110 which costs RM165,000. Equipped with a 52kWh battery pack, the Zoe R110 has a WLTP-rated range of 395km.
The EV has also been fitted with an 80kW (107hp) electric motor that also produces 225Nm of torque. Renault said that the Zoe R110 can go from 0 to 100km/h in 11.4 seconds while it also has a top speed of 135km/h.
When it comes to charging, the Zoe R110 is among the very few EVs in Malaysia that can support AC charging of up to 22kW. This allows the EV to be fully charged within 3 hours which is fairly alright for AC charging.
However, it can only support DC fast charging at up to 50kW. On DC, it takes the Zoe R110 around 70 minutes to get from 0% to 80%.
