Maxis customers will be able to utilise 5G connectivity starting tomorrow, 15 August. The telco earlier today has obtained approval from its shareholders to execute the finalised access agreement with the national 5G company, Digital Nasional Berhad.
In conjunction with the imminent arrival of 5G, there will also be new plans for customers although the telco said that it will only reveal the full details tomorrow. Despite that, Maxis did briefly describe how the new plans will look in today’s announcement.
For example, the new Maxis Postpaid 5G plans will have a price range of RM79 to RM199 per month. These plans will come with a data quota of 200GB that is applicable for both 4G and 5G usage.
Maxis Postpaid 5G customers will also able to enjoy bonus 5G data of up to 100GB alongside unlimited calls and SMS. A similar structure will be carried over to the Maxis Business Postpaid 5G plans as well, according to the telco.
Maxis Business Postpaid 5G customers are also able to enjoy additional Productivity Data of up to 100GB and digital marketing solutions. The telco will also be offering a monthly rebate of RM10 for up to one year to new Maxis Business Postpaid 5G customers or existing customers that want to move on to the new plan.
As for Hotlink Postpaid 5G plan, it will be made available at RM70 per month. The plan will come together with 70GB of data quota alongside 35GB of bonus 5G data.
For those who are not fond of postpaid plans, Maxis will also introduce Hotlink Prepaid 5G internet passes that is priced at RM45 per month. Available under the Hotlink Pantas Pass, it provides a 50GB general data quota and 25GB of bonus 5G data.
Hotlink Prepaid customers can also get their hands on the 15GB weekly pass for RM15 which comes with a 10GB Bonus 5G data. For customers that are under 24 years old, they will also be provided with 20% cashback on the purchase of monthly Internet passes.
Maxis has also confirmed that it will offer Maxis Home WiFi 5G plan for RM158 per month inclusive of a 5G router. Unlike the mobile plans, this plan does not come with a quota although you may have to anticipate some form of Fair Usage Policy (FUP) implementation which is common with any unlimited plans in the market.
The telco said that the new 5G plan will be announced on its website at 12:00 PM. So, make sure to stay tuned for more updates coming your way tomorrow.
