If you’ve been looking for a new monitor for your home setup but also want it to double as an entertainment centre to watch your content, Samsung Malaysia has just introduced their latest refreshes of their smart monitor lineup with the new M7 and M8 smart monitors.

Samsung Smart Monitor M7 and M8 Malaysia pricing and availability

The two smart monitors from Samsung are now available for purchase from the official Samsung online store as well as their brand stores on Shopee. Both are only available in 32-inch, 4K sizes, with the M7 priced at RM2,788 while the M8 is priced at RM3,588.

From now till 9 July however, you’ll be able to get the M7 and M8 for just RM2,238 and RM2,888 respectively as part of their launch promo. Customers who purchase via the Samsung online store will also get an additional 5% off on their first purchase with free standard shipping.

Samsung Smart Monitor M7 and M8 specs

The Samsung M7 and M8 actually share quite quite a bit in common, with both getting a new ‘Iconic Slim Design’ treatment from Samsung. This means that at their thinnest the pair of smart monitors measure just 11.39mm thin, with a herringbone pattern texture on the back of the monitors. They also have height adjustable stands too with tilt support for easy angle adjustment.

Hardware-wise, the two monitors feature 32-inch, VA flat panels in a standard 16:9 aspect ratio pushing a 4K (3840 x 2160p) resolution, with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a 60Hz refresh rate and a 4ms response time. The M7 has a max brightness of 300nits with support for HDR10, while the more expensive M8 can go a little brighter at 400nits and support HDR10+. You’ll also find a pair of built-in 5W speakers, as well as 100 x 100mm VESA wall mount on the back.

What sets these two monitors apart from your regular monitors though are their smart features, with the built in Smart Hub allowing you to use it almost like a TV, with streaming platforms such as Netflix and YouTube preinstalled already. You can use it for productivity purposes too, with Google Meet usable even without a laptop being plugged in. There’s built-in voice assistants too such as Bixby and Alexa, or if you prefer a keyboard and mouse you can use it plugged straight into the monitor to control the Smart Hub apps directly.

Other features of note include easy linking to your smartphone via Bluetooth Low Energy, allowing you to display your photos and information on the screen easily as a screen saver during standby mode. The M8 also has magnetic, removable FHD webcam. As for I/O, the pair of monitors come with a HDMI 2.0 port, two USB-A ports and a USB-C port with 65W output.
