Back in March, Lenovo announced a new sub-brand that will offer gaming laptops and computers aimed at first time gamers and gamers on a budget, rivalling the likes of the Acer Nitro and Asus TUF brands. Called Lenovo LOQ (pronounced as ‘lock’), this new brand will complement their flagship Lenovo Legion lineup with the first Lenovo LOQ laptops now available in Malaysia.
If you’re keen on Lenovo’s new budget-conscious gaming laptop, you’ll first have to choose what screen size you’re looking for. The Lenovo LOQ gaming laptop will be offered with either 15.6-inch or 16-inch IPS displays, with up to a refresh rate of 165Hz and a peak brightness of 350nits if you choose the most expensive display option. The smaller laptops will also be available in either FHD or WQHD options while the larger ones will only have a WUXGA resolution.
Under the hood, you again get the choice of either AMD or Intel-flavoured machines, with up to an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS or up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700H processor, mated to up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM on the 15-inch models and up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM on the 16-inch models. You’ll be able to pair that with up to a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD as well as up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 laptop graphics card running at 115W TGP, with Windows 11 out of the box.
Other features of note include a backlit white keyboard as standard while an optional four zone RGB backlight keyboard is also available at a small cost. Other features of notes include two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen1 port, an Ethernet port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, a HDMI port and a 3.5 combo audio jack as well as a privacy shutter on your webcam.
