Acerpure, a subsidiary of Acer, has just launched its new Acerpure Aqua WP1 water purifier in Malaysia. Unlike many water purifiers out there, the Aqua WP1 doesn’t require any piping to set it up, allowing it to be set up on any countertop or table in your house or office for easy access to filtered water.
The Acerpure Aqua WP1 will be priced at RM3,599, and will be available for purchase from now onwards at the Acer eStore as well as the Acerpure official store and Acer flagship store on Shopee. You’ll also be able to find it at physical retail stores by One Living and Chin Loong.
Acer Malaysia is running a launch promotion for the Acerpure Aqua WP1, with all customers who purchase one of their new water purifiers before 14 August 2023 eligible to get a free Acerpure Cool C1 air purifier worth RM1,299 and an Acerpure pillow worth RM89. You’ll get an extended 5-year warranty too, instead of the regular 2-year carry-in local warranty.
The Acerpure Aqua WP1 comes in the form of a small, minimalist white box, housing a detachable 8.7 liter water tank on the back. It’s a piping-free water purifier, allowing you to place it anywhere you’d like in your home or office, with Acer highlighting its convenience in contrast to regular water purifier setups that need to be plumbed in.
It disperses out filtered hydrogen water, which Acer says is a healthy choice with enhanced nutrient absorption—it’s essentially just water with more hydrogen molecules added into it. Mind you, there’s no conclusive scientific evidence that it’s beneficial to your health, but some early research has shown that it may provide antioxidant benefits. In any case, it’s recognised as a safe liquid by the US FDA and shouldn’t cause you any harm.
As for how you’d disperse out said hydrogen water, on the front of the Acerpure Aqua WP1 is a user-friendly control panel that lets you choose the volume and temperature of water based on what you want. There’s already three preset water temperatures for cold, room temp and hot water, and you’re also able to pick between 40°C to 95°C for your water. The preset output volumes meanwhile are 150ml, 300ml and 500ml, but again you can adjust the output amount in 50ml increments between 150ml and 500ml.
Doing the filtration work meanwhile is a 3-step RO filtration system certified by the SGS Water Quality Test, meaning it’s been proven to remove unwanted particles as small as 0.0001um such as bacteria, virus and residual chlorine. Acer was so confident in the Aqua WP1 that they also showed it off filtering out tea and orange juice straight into water. There’s a real-time Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) water quality monitor too, which lets you check the filtration levels and when the TDS level gets too high you can press the smart wash button to maintain water quality.
On top of it being a piping-free solution, the easy maintenance lets you monitor how clean your water is yourself and there’s no need to schedule service appointments too. Instead, Acer themselves will be selling replacement filters from their eStore, which you can get once the indicator light tells you the filter needs to be changed.
