Asus Malaysia has refreshed its entry-level Vivobook Go series of laptops today, starting with a larger model called the Vivobook Go 15. This latest offering gives buyers a big screen and a new AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor at a decently low price.
In Malaysia, the Vivobook Go 15 is available in two configurations with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. Prices are as follows:
The base model is available now, while the version with 16GB RAM will go on sale sometime later this month. The laptop is only offered in a Cool Silver colourway with bright orange feet.
The Vivobook Go 15 is a rather conventional laptop with a 15.6-inch NanoEdge Full HD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Unlike in other markets, we don’t get an OLED option; instead, the device is LCD only, with a TN panel for the base model and an IPS panel for the more expensive 16GB RAM variant.
Both have a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 250 nits; the hinge, on the other hand, opens 180 degrees, allowing the laptop to lay flat. Up top is a 720p webcam with a built-in privacy shutter.
As a result of the larger display, you get a full-sized ErgoSense chiclet keyboard with a numpad, claimed to offer 1.4mm of key travel. There are also warning stripes on the Enter key and the lid, a reference of the Vivobook Go 15 being rugged enough to achieve the US military’s MIL-STD-810H durability standard. When closed, the laptop is 17.9mm thick and weighs 1.63kg.
Power comes from a quad-core AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor, based on the Zen 2 architecture. It’s paired with integrated Radeon 610M graphics along with either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 5,500MHz RAM. You also get a 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD for storage.
Juicing all of this is a 45Wh battery that can be charged at up to 45W, bringing it up to 60% charge in 49 minutes. In terms of I/O, you get a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB-A ports (one USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 2.0), a HDMI 1.4 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Vivobook Go 15 also comes with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, along with a fingerprint sensor, Asus SonicMaster speakers and DTS audio processing; it ships with Windows 11 Home.
