Beats Studio Buds+: Transparent ANC wireless earbuds coming soon at RM699

If you’re someone who wants both the transparent looks of the Nothing’s earbuds but also prefer to use Apple products, then you may be pleased to know that Beats by Dr Dre, the audio company owned by Cupertino, has just launched their latest true wireless earbuds, the Beats Studio Buds+. The most obvious unique selling point here is that, well, they’re transparent.

Okay well technically the Beats Studio Buds+ actually comes in three different colour options with the transparent one likely being the most eye catching of the three. The other two colourways meanwhile are ivory and a black option with gold trims for the Beats logo. But other than just the colour options, Beats says that they’ve improved the overall design of the earbuds too, with three new acoustic vents for better audio precision and pressure relief for more comfortable all day use. There’s also four ear tip options in the box ranging from extra small to large to fit more ears.

Beats adds that the custom acoustic platform used allows for a powerful and balanced sound, with each earbud coming with a proprietary two-layer transducer for cleaner bass and ultra-low distortion. Apple Music users in particular will get to enjoy spatial audio too. The Beats Studio Buds+ also have 3x larger microphones, a more powerful processor, up to 1.6x better active noise cancelling and 2x better transparency than the original Beats Studio Buds. It comes with up to 9 hours of battery life on the earbuds themselves, with the charging case providing a further 27 hours of use.

On top of that, the Beats Studio Buds+ will feature not just the usual slew of Apple compatibility support, but also enhanced Android compatibility. On the Apple side of things, there’s one touch pairing with all your devices, Find My support to easily locate a misplaced earbud and OTA updates. Android users meanwhile can enjoy Google Fast Pair for swift connection with your Android devices, Audio Switch to easily switch between multiple audio sources, Find My Device, and the Beats app on Android will help you update firmware as well as unlock access to product customisation too.

The Beats Studio Buds+ is already available on the Apple Malaysia website with a RM699 price tag, though at the moment is still listed as ‘Coming Soon’. If you don’t necessarily want or need the transparent looks though, you can also opt for 2021’s Beats Studio Buds instead, which goes for RM649. Alternatively, there’s also the AirPods Pro albeit for an admittedly pricier RM1,099 while the regular 3rd gen AirPods starts at RM829 and lacks ANC.
