[ UPDATE ] Touch ‘n Go eWallet is down: Payments and NFC reloads unavailable, long queues at RFID toll lanes

[ UPDATE 17/05/2023 3:36pm ] Touch ‘n Go has finally updated that its eWallet services are fully up and running again, apologising for any inconvenience caused.

[ UPDATE 17/05/2023 11:05am ] Not long after writing this post, the eWallet app appears to be back online, although one of our colleagues was unable to log in due to “suspicious activity,” possibly as a result of trying to log in too many times.

The Touch ‘n Go eWallet is currently suffering an outage that has disabled all functionality, including payments and NFC card reloads. Users are reporting that they are getting logged out automatically upon opening the app.

Attempts to log back in are met with the message:

Heavy traffic reported

Sorry, but heavy traffic is causing delays in processing your request. Don’t fret, we’re fixing this. Hold tight & try again later.

The outage also appears to be affecting highway users. While RFID lanes remain open, long queues have been reported, and PayDirect, which lets TNG card users pay for tolls and parking using their eWallet, is also apparently down. Our own Alexander Wong said his toll payments were deducted from his TNG card balance, not his eWallet.

The RFID lanes at the toll plazas on the Penchala Link and Kerinchi Link are also closed, but that is due to an entirely separate network outage that highway operator Litrak is suffering from, TNG has confirmed.

It’s safe to assume, then, that every service that involves the TNG eWallet, including RFID, does not work at the moment. As such, if you’re driving out today, make sure you bring a TNG card and ensure you have sufficient balance before starting your journey.
