MSI has announced the arrival of their new Bravo series of gaming laptops to our shores. These represent the first time the Taiwanese manufacturer has ever paired an AMD processor with an NVIDIA graphics card in one of their gaming laptops, with MSI calling it a ‘new level of gaming experience’.
The MSI Bravo will come in two sizes, namely the Bravo 17 and the Bravo 15. The former is already available for pre-order on the MSI Malaysia eStore while the latter will only be available at BM STAR physical stores nationwide. Here’s how much they’ll cost:
The star of the show here really is the combination of AMD processors with NVIDIA graphics cards here, the first time MSI has done this on their laptops. They feature AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, though not the latest Ryzen 7040 series with Zen 4 cores but rather the Ryzen 7035 lineup with Zen 3+ cores. The Bravo 17 will come with your option between the Ryzen 5 7535HS or the Ryzen 7 7735HS, while the smaller Bravo 15 will only be available with the latter.
That gets paired with 8GB of DDR5-4800 RAM though you can upgrade it if you need more memory. You’ll also find a 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD as well as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU; the Bravo 17 with the Ryzen 7 7735HS will come with the GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU instead.
They’re kept cool with its Cooler Boost 5 cooling solution while a MUX switch lets you squeeze as much out of the GPU as possible. All of MSI’s Bravo laptops will also come with Windows 11 Home out of the box.
Elsewhere, the Bravo 17 has a 17.3-inch, FHD IPS display while the Bravo 15 packs a 15.6-inch, FHD IPS panel; both the Bravo 17 and Bravo 15 are capable of a 144Hz refresh rate too. The MSI Bravo series laptops come with a blue backlit keyboard and have a pair of 2W stereo speakers with Nahimic 3 support. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 53.5Wh battery with a 200W power adapter in the box.
As for I/O, you’re getting a HDMI 2.1 port, a gigabit Ethernet port two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-A 2.0 port and a USB-C 3.2 port along with a 3.5mm audio combo jack. The MSI Bravo series will have support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity too.
