While it might not be that obvious due to their lack of a market presence in Malaysia, Motorola has actually become arguably one of the major names when it comes to clamshell foldable phones. Their upcoming flagship clamshell is set to be the Motorola Razr 40 and the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and even though they aren’t out yet, leaked renders of the latter have surfaced online.
Posted by serial leakster Evan Blass on Twitter, the Motorola Razr 40 sure seems like it’ll live up to that ‘Ultra’ name, thanks to a massive cover screen when folded. It’s so big in fact that it looks to have wrapped around the dual cameras and the flash module too. When compared to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra looks to be miles ahead when it comes to the outer display.
It supposedly sports a 1,056 x 1,056p resolution, while the two camera modules it wraps around is a 12MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. When unfolded, the Razr 40 Ultra unpacks a FHD+ display with a high refresh rate, though whether its 120Hz or 144Hz though is unconfirmed. It’ll have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 under the hood with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Motorola is also expected to fit a 3,640mAh battery with 33W fast charging on the Razr 40 Ultra.
Of course, there’s no word just yet on when exactly it’ll launch, or if it’ll even come to Malaysia; the Motorola Razr 2022 never made it to our shores. However, it should make a formal appearance sometime in the next few weeks.
