Acer Aspire 7 with GTX 1650 now upgraded with Intel H-series processor, get huge price cut

Back in November last year, Acer Malaysia launched the new Aspire 7 to our shores. Priced at just RM3,899, it offered a lot of value for gamers or students on a budget with a high refresh rate display, 12th Gen Intel Core processor and a graphics card that’ll still handle eSports titles with ease. If you’ve been considering getting one though, you might be pleased to hear that not only is the Aspire 7 about to be more powerful, it’s also getting cheaper.

The refreshed Aspire 7 is now priced at just RM3,199—a huge RM700 less than the original price tag it launched for. On top of that, Acer has also upgraded the processor from an Intel Core i5-1240P to an Intel Core i5-12450H. While the P-series chip has the same number of performance cores and more efficiency cores, the H-series processor that replaces it runs at a higher TDP which should offer a not insignificant bump in performance, especially in CPU-intensive games.

And there’s good reason to use the Aspire 7 in games too. Together with the new price tag and better processor, the Acer Aspire retains mostly the same specs as before. This means a 15.6-inch, FHD IPS display that’s capable of a 144Hz refresh rate, while together with the Core i5-12450H is 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD. If 8GB of RAM isn’t enough, you’ll find a spare SoDIMM slot too allowing you to easily upgrade to 16GB of RAM.

Other features of note include a 50Wh battery that Acer rates for a maximum of eight hours. As for I/O you get three USB-A ports, a HDMI 2.1 port, an Ethernet port, a headphone jack as well as a USB-C port and support for WiFi 6.

Acer will be making the refreshed Aspire 7 available for purchase later in April 2023, and you can find it on sale at the Acer Malaysia eStore as well as their official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
