Sooka, the video streaming platform owned by Astro, has announced a new promo for its VIP+ Sports plan. Usually priced at RM41.90 a month, the VIP+ Sports package on Sooka can now be yours for just RM34.90 a month, and appears to be part of Sooka’s plan to promote the current season of domestic football that just began.
As part of this package, not only will you be able to watch all the Malaysian league games, you’ll also be able to stream local and international live sports, such as the Premier League, BWF badminton, UFC, F1, Moto GP and more. You’ll also get access to their selection of TV shows and local dramas. Priced at just RM6 more than the Liga Malaysia Pass on Sooka that only gets you the local football games, the cheaper VIP+Sports package is much more worth it especially for sports fans. Do note though that VIP+Sports package subscribers can only watch via a browser or the mobile app.
According to Sooka’s support page, all current subscribers of the VIP+ Sports package will also be able to enjoy this new reduced price, with Sooka stating that the RM34.90/month fee will be reflected on your next billing cycle. However, they do point out that the promotional offer is only available for a limited time with no mention of when this deal will end, and that they will notify all subscribers of any further price changes.
“We want to ensure that sports fans will never miss an important match or goal during the entire local football season, and allow fans the freedom of choosing how they watch football on their preferred screens, and pay as they like via no contract and commitment-free plans.
We strive to continue delivering our audience a liberating viewing experience of sports with no worries or limitations,” – Emarina Kamal, Sooka Head of Programming
This is just the latest discount offered by Sooka, which had slashed the price of its VIP TV package from RM84.90 down to just RM62.90 per month back in February. Just like the VIP+ Sports package, VIP TV gives subscribers access to live sports which include the Premier League, BWF badminton, F1, Moto GP as well as your usual selection of TV shows and dramas. However, unlike the VIP+ Sports package, VIP TV is available on compatible smart TVs and mobile devices.
