Apart from just launching their next generation of flagship smartphones, Xiaomi also had a couple other things to showcase during their MWC 2023 keynote, which included the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra. This is a much more premium electric scooter that claims to offer a smoother and safer ride even in rough terrain.
The most notable new feature here is the dual suspension system, the first time Xiaomi has used such a system in one of their electric scooters. According to Xiaomi, this allows the Electric Scooter 4 Ultra to offer an incredibly smooth and safe ride, with the dual suspension system working to reduce any vibration or jolts you may get while riding. Xiaomi also increased the height of the chassis a little here to get that smoother ride experience.
On top of that, Xiaomi also equipped the Electric Scooter 4 Ultra with larger 10-inch Xiaomi DuraGel tires, which are also puncture-proof and self-sealing. The Chinese giant claims these new tires will reduce the risk of a tire blowout, ensuring rider safety and improving ride experience.
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra will be able to reach a top speed of up to 25km/h, and is able to climb slopes with inclines of up to 25%. It offers a claimed 940W of maximum gear motor power, while the battery in the scooter gives it a 70km range before needing to plug it in. There’s even an S+ mode for when you want faster acceleration.
The whole chassis is built out of an aluminum body, with a maximum load of 120kg. It has a deck size of 880cm² with a handle grip measuring 490mm, the wider frame allowing for a bigger standing area and a more stable grip. The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is also IP55 rated, giving it some mild protection over puddles. You’ll be able to control and sync the scooter by hooking it up to the Xiaomi Home/Mi Home app, tracking your miles and riding records as well as to turn on the front light and tail light for safer riding at night.
There’s no news yet on whether Xiaomi plans to bring the Electric Scooter 4 Ultra to our shores just yet, but for now we do know that it’s priced at EUR999 (~RM4,706.04) in Europe.
