If you’re a Celcom user, you might have noticed some issues with your network today (27 Feb 2023), with the telco notifying its users on social media that customers in Ulu Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis in particular may encounter voice and data experience issues.

Customers in parts of Ulu Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis may find their voice and data experience affected due to a triple fibre cut. Our network engineers are working hard to resolve this issue and restore services as soon as possible.

— Celcom (@Celcom) February 27, 2023

The problem apparently stems from a triple fibre cut, with Celcom’s network engineers currently working to fix it and restore services as soon as possible. Incidentally, the problem is not only affecting Celcom’s users, but also Xpax and Celcom’s MVNO partners such as Yoodo, TuneTalk, XOX and RedOne.

Dear users, please be patient as we're working to resolve this soonest possible. Thank you https://t.co/L9ajXhNSLP

Tune Talkers in northern region, if you're experiencing voice & data connectivity issue, please take note of the following notice by our network service provider. https://t.co/hSaO1PxMqS

If you’re a Celcom user living up north, do let us know in the comments if the situation has been fixed or if the problem remains.
