The cheaper Pakej Perpaduan prepaid data plan for B40, youths, people with disabilities (OKU), senior citizens and veterans will be available for subscription at the end of this month. The main mobile telcos in Malaysia consisting of CelcomDigi, Maxis, Telekom Malaysia, U Mobile and YTL Communications have jointly issued a statement announcing that they would introduce the special prepaid mobile internet plan effective 28th February 2023.
The Pakej Perpaduan Prepaid Plan which was announced by the government will offer 30GB of data quota valid for 6 months with a speed cap of 3Mbps, for RM30. The plan is targeted at underserved communities which include youths below 30 years old, senior citizens, veterans of uniformed bodies, persons with disabilities and the B40s. This new plan is a replacement for the older Pakej Remaja Keluarga Malaysia which offered 20GB of high-speed data valid for 3 months for RM30. Customers are urged to refer to their respective telco’s websites on 28th February 2023 for more details about the Pakej Perpaduan plans.
Besides mobile prepaid, the government has also announced a cheaper fixed broadband package for lower-income groups.
