Is this the first picture of an iPhone 15 Pro with a USB-C port?

It was barely a day since the first couple of CAD renders of the iPhone 15 Pro appeared online, when an alleged photo of the actual phone has surfaced online too. Okay, so maybe it’s not a picture of the entire phone, but instead a close up shot of the new USB-C port that’ll be on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro lineup.

That’s cute.

Anyway, here’s an actual close up of the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 Pro. No imagination or rendering required. https://t.co/vMyQPzeNws pic.twitter.com/LtF3se6MjL

This leak comes from known leakster Unknownz21 on Twitter, and shows the USB-C port having a brushed finish on it, something that’s typically done by Apple. It also has a slight curve on the edges, which again seem to corroborate with what the CAD files had been claiming. Incidentally, the photo shows the sides of the iPhone 15 Pro apparently having a matte finish too rather than the shiny stainless steel on the current iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. This comes after earlier rumours of Apple moving towards using titanium on their Pro models for this year’s generation.

Prior to the photo appearing online though, there were the CAD files by 9to5Mac, which gives us a supposed overview of Apple’s upcoming flagship smartphone. Again, the big changes here are seemingly the USB-C port on the bottom rather than the Lightning port (forced onto Apple by the EU of course) along with the same slight curvature on the edges of the iPhone 15 Pro seen earlier.

Other than that though, the camera layout remains the same, with the iconic triple rear camera setup together with the LiDAR scanner housed in a square camera bump. That being said, the camera lenses do seem somewhat thicker this time round, perhaps hinting at improved camera hardware. As for the display, it looks like the iPhone 15 Pro will have a thinner bezel all around the display compared to the iPhone 14 Pro, while retaining the Dynamic Island cutout up top.

With all that being said though, it’s worth noting that all this remains speculation still, and that we’ll really only know for sure what the iPhone 15 Pro will look like once it debuts in full, likely sometime in September this year.
