Acer’s mainstream Swift lineup of laptops has a new family member now: the Swift Go 16 and Swift Go 14. Announced during CES 2023, Acer says these two laptops will combine the latest hardware along with vibrant and colour-rich OLED displays while still keeping a thin and light design with super slim bezels.
Both the Swift Go 16 and Swift Go 14 will come with OLED displays that they claim delivers true-to-life images, offering 500nits of peak brightness, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut as well as VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The larger of the two laptops comes with a 16-inch OLED panel pushing a 3200 x 2000p resolution as well as a 120Hz refresh rate and bezels just 4.2mm thin, while the Swift Go 14 has a 14-inch OLED display with a 2880 x 1800p resolution as well as bezels just 4.15mm thin. Both screens use the taller 16:10 aspect ratio, with some models also coming with touch support.
Under the hood, Acer did not specify what exact processors will be going into the Swift Go 16 and Swift Go 14, but did confirm that they will be using 13th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, so you can expect some solid performance here. This gets mated to up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 2TB of SSD storage. It also has Intel Evo platform verification, bringing an ‘all day battery life’ rated at roughly 9.5 hours of use. Keeping it all cool meanwhile is an upgraded TwinAir dual fan cooling system with dual D6 copper heat pipes and an air-inlet keyboard that expels heat away from the silicon.
Elsewhere, you’ll find an Intel Movidius vision processing unit, a dedicated AI engine that offers premium video collaboration and new Windows Studio effects. There’s support for Intel Unison too, allowing users to sync the Swift Go with their Android or iOS device. As for I/O you can expect USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card reader too. It even has a 1440p webcam, a huge upgrade over the 720p webcams of yesteryear.
The Swift Go 16 weighs roughly 1.6kg, while the Swift Go 14 weighs a little under 1.3kg; both come in at 14.9mm thick. As for pricing and availability, there’s no confirmation just yet on when the two Swift Go laptops will be heading to our shores, but Acer has confirmed their prices and availability elsewhere for now. The Swift Go 14 starts at USD849.99 (~RM3,744.63) and will be available in Europe, China and Africa from February onwards, with North America getting it in May. As for the Swift Go 16, it starts at USD799.99 (~RM3,524.36) and will be available in Europe, China and Africa in March before being available in North America later in June.
